Obituary

Lois Jane Madden-Reiman was born August 20, 1936, in Montevideo, Minnesota, the daughter of Ralph Edward and Mable (Allen) Cushman. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Montevideo. She grew up and attended grade school and high school in Montevideo. She was employed at the drugstore. On January 16, 1955, Lois was united in marriage to Jerry Madden in Benson. This union was blessed with four children. The family lived in Gilbert, Minnesota when they were first married, then moved back to rural Benson on a farm. Lois was a housewife and also worked at Meadow Lane Healthcare Center in Benson. On April 25, 1998 Lois was united in marriage to Eugene Reiman in Benson. They lived in rural Benson. Lois belonged to St. Francis Catholic Church and church groups. She also belonged to a homemaker's group. Among the things that Lois enjoyed were entering sweepstakes, yard work, working on the computer, babysitting her grandchildren, camping and traveling. Lois was called from this life on Friday, February 20, 2009 at her residence. She attained the age of 72 years and 6 months. Lois is survived by her husband Eugene of Benson; her children: Mark (Helen) Madden of Starbuck, Brian (Sheryl) Madden of Benson, and Holli Marrs of Champlin; eight grandchildren: Melissa (Chad) Payne, Matthew Madden (fiancé Janelle Wente), Jason Madden, Tabitha Marrs, Noah Marrs, Charlene (Patrick) Tansey, Kari (Keith) Zenzen, and Dacia Doroff; five great grandchildren: Courtni Payne, Codi Payne, Shane and Neil Tansey, and Gavin Zenzen; seven step-children: Daniel (Delaine) Reiman of Burnsville, Ralph (Donna) Reiman of Willmar, Kathy (Dave) Eckmann of Minneapolis, Paul (Ruth Ann) Reiman of Benson, Robert (Cindy) Reiman of Benson, Linda (Jim) Berens of Benson, and Kenneth (Patricia) Reiman of Paynesville; sixteen step-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; two brothers: Dennis (Joan) Cushman of Montevideo and Byron (Linda) Cushman of Anoka; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband Jerry Madden; a son Scott Madden; brothers: Dale Cushman, Leland Cushman; a sister Shirley Cushman; a nephew Rick Cushman; her parents Mable and Ralph; and a great granddaughter, Carli Payne in 2004.
