Lorraine Clara Gallagher was born May 28, 1920 in Avon, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Achman) Maehren. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith. Lorraine grew up and attended school through the eighth grade in Avon. On November 22, 1938, Lorraine was united in marriage to John Joseph Gallagher. This marriage was blessed with four children and 32 years of marriage. They owned and operated the Danvers Restaurant for many years. After John passed away in 1970, Lorraine lived in Danvers, and worked for Ted's Locker, the Benson School District and the Swift County Historical Society. She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at Visitation Catholic Church in Danvers and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Among the things she enjoyed were bowling, quilting, cake decorating, and cheering for the Minnesota Twins and other sport teams. She was especially known for her wonderful donuts. Lorraine was called from this life on August 30, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Benson. She attained the age of 90 years, 3 months, and two days. Lorraine is survived by her sons: Joseph (Rosara) Gallagher of Geneseo, IL, Jeffery (Ruth) Gallagher of Montevideo, Jerome (Ann) Gallagher of Marshall, and James (friend Lois Fahey) of Danvers; twelve grandchildren: Suzanne, Salvator, JoMarie, Roseann, Patti, Heather, Edward, Michael, Teresa, Matthew, John and James; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Charles (Kay) Maehren of Seattle, WA and Jerome (Edna) Maehren of Metford, OR; three sisters: Charlene Maehren of St. Cloud, Elaine (Lawrence) Johnson of Waite Park, and Eileen Arnold of Crystal; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; two brothers: Ralph and Vern; and four sisters: Sally, Bernice, Cyrella, and Florence.
