Lorraine H. Klenken, was born on January 29, 1921, in St. Paul, the daughter of Arthur and Anna Johnson Marose. She grew up in St. Paul and attended school at the Tatum School, Hancock School, Wilson High School and the Mechanic Arts High School. She was confirmed at Jehovah English Lutheran Church in St. Paul. In 1947, she married Joseph August Klenken in Minneapolis. Together they raised four children, Fay, Polly, Sandy and Joe Jr. They settled in Minneapolis and then moved to a farm near Benson in 1949. They farmed in Six Mile Grove Township until 1975 when they moved to Benson. Lorraine worked at Lee's Ben Franklin dime store in Benson for many years. She was called from this life on October 1, 2011, at Swift County Benson Hospital. She attained the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 2 days. Lorraine was a member of St. Francis family groups, the Six Mile Grove Birthday Club, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1403. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and reading. She is survived by her children Fay Inwood, of Maplewood, Paulette (Roger) Jones, St. Paul, Sandra (Dale) Tolifson, Benson, and Joseph (Debbie) Klenken Jr., Brooklyn Park; 12 grandchildren, Randy Dalbec, Tammy (Jamie) Hobbs, Todd Dalbec, Beth Livingston, Theresa (Ron) Lenarz, Daniel Jones, Mike (Beth) Tolifson, David (Janel) Tolifson, Kimberly (Joel) Artmann, Steven (Hilarie) Tolifson, Josh (Tiffany) Klenken, and Jacob (Catherine) Klenken, 20 great grandchildren, Meah Hobbs, Gavin Hobbs, Cassie Richmond, Pam Richmond, Henry Lenarz, Emma Lenarz, Abby Tolifson, Ashley Tolifson, Katelyn Tolifson, Matthew Tolifson, Ryan Tolifson, Carly Tolifson, Campbell Artmann, Calvin Artmann, Alex Artmann, Emily Artmann, Bradley Tolifson, Grace Klenken, Noah Klenken, and Milo Klenken; one sister, Audrey Hall, St. Paul; two brothers Richard (Jeanne) Marose, White Bear Lake, and Larry (Marcie) Marose, White Bear Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Anna Marose, her husband Joseph A. Klenken Sr. in 1989, four sisters Lillian Solnitzky, Marion Sayre, Marjorie Oker, and Betty Hall, and three brothers Donald Marose, Roger Marose, and Jim Marose.
