Lyle Vernon Krogstad was born April 7, 1926 in Chippewa County, Minnesota, the son of Olaf G. and Julia (Thorstad) Krogstad. He attended school at District #26 near Granite Falls, MN. Lyle started farming with his father and continued for 46 years. He raised corn, soybeans, wheat, hogs and had a mink ranch. On December 6, 1970 Lyle was united in marriage to Violet Amundson Lee. They spent 20 years in Texas. Violet passed away in April of 2004. On September 13, 2008, Lyle was married to Gwendolyn Grove at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church Chapel. They lived in De Graff, and spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona. Lyle was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson for many years. Lyle was called from this life on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Swift County Benson Hospital. He attained the age of 85 years, one month and 8 days. Lyle is survived by his wife Gwen of Benson; sister-in-law, June Krogstad; step-family Dean Grove and Colleen Grove Rodgers and Archie Rodgers; four nephews: Donald, John, Kenneth & Paul Krogstad; two nieces: Mary Ann Krogstad Tjernagel and Rachelle Krogstad Anderson. Preceding him in death were his parents; and three brothers: Warren (Beatrice) Krogstad, Rolland (Freida) Krogstad and Gerald Krogstad.
