Obituary

Our beloved Marion Louise "Bear Hug" Moran (Holland), passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Ruskin, Florida, at the age of 80. Born on May 13, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Marion lived a life defined by compassion, warmth, and an unwavering dedication to caring for others.

Marion began her professional journey in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her passion for helping people feel better was evident in every aspect of her work. She approached caregiving not just as a job but as a calling—offering comfort and kindness to those in need with a gentle touch and an open heart.

Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her career. Marion had a remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel like family. Known affectionately as "Bear Hug," she earned her nickname through the warm embraces she freely gave and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Her smile lit up faces, her kind words soothed hearts, and her silly phrases left lasting impressions on all who knew her.

Marion's love for life was reflected in her many hobbies and interests. She found joy in crocheting intricate patterns that became treasured keepsakes for loved ones. She had a deep appreciation for Native American culture—collecting jewelry and artifacts with reverence and learning the Cherokee language with curiosity and respect. Nature inspired her creativity, and she delighted in arts and crafts that celebrated its beauty.

Her faith in Christ was a guiding light throughout her life. It shaped her values of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love—qualities that defined every relationship she nurtured.

Marion's legacy lives on through her loving family: daughters Joann Gorman, Crystal Summers, and Carolyn Morgan; brothers Robert Holland and Arthur Holland; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two nephews. She now joins in eternal rest with her beloved husband Mark Moran; daughter Martha Bridges; mother Christine (Edwinson) Holland; and Father Marion Holland.

A memorial service celebrating Marion's life will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
May the memory of Marion Louise "Bear Hug" Moran bring comfort to all who were touched by her boundless love and radiant spirit.
