Martin Zients 79 passed away Tuesday night December 16th at his home in Ruskin with his wife Karen and his three fur kids, Smokey, Leela and Maggie by his side.
Marty was the FSBDC at USF's finance consultant and he assisted hundreds of small business owners obtain financing for their companies. Marty worked for the Florida SBDC Network for 22 years, the last four years with the USF Center. In 2013, he was awarded the regional business consultant of the year award.
Marty had two passions - travel and animals. During their 28 year marriage Marty and Karen were able to travel the world and visit 62 countries. He loved his fur kids and did what he could to help rescue dogs from euthanasia.
He is survived by his wife Karen, brother Alan, children Rick, Bonnie and Jennifer. Grandchildren Keith, Allyson, Jaime, Ellia and Ian. And of course his three fur kids.
Marty's Memorial Service has been set for Sunday, February 1st from
1 pm to 3 pm in the Palm Room at the Sunset Grill in Little Harbor, Ruskin.
