Edwina Holmes Rosenzweig, 87, and Max Rosenzweig, 90, died August 7, 2021, and November 8, 2021, respectively. They were married for 67 years. Edwina was born March 11, 1934, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Ethel Ruth Robertson Holmes and Lloyde Neil Holmes. Max was born September 24, 1931, in Tallulah, Louisiana, to Flora Hardin Rosenzweig and Isadore Rosenzweig.

Edwina attended Mount Carmel High School in Lafayette and Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans. Max graduated from the Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). They met in 1952 when Max was a college student in Edwina's hometown, and they married in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1954 after Max had graduated from college and entered the U.S. Air Force.

Max and Edwina were preceded in death by an infant daughter, their parents, Edwina's five sisters, and three of Max's four brothers. They are survived by their three remaining children, Miriam R. Miller (David) of Arlington, Virginia, Stephen P. Rosenzweig of Willow Spring, North Carolina, and Robbyn R. Kehoe (Matthew) of Atglen, Pennsylvania, eight grandchildren, and six (soon to be seven) great grandchildren. Max is also survived by his brother Dr. Frederick F. Hardin of Atlanta, Georgia.

Between Max's Air Force career and subsequent career with Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys), Max and Edwina lived in eight states as well as Germany and Turkey. Max left active duty with the USAF in 1967, but continued serving in the reserves while working for Burroughs. Max retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1979 and from Unisys in 1990. After retiring, Max realized his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot when he earned his private pilot's certificate in 1996. He enjoyed flying his small plane into his 80s.

Edwina was a devoted wife and mother. She worked briefly as a nurse and later as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and making stained glass art objects. Edwina and Max shared a love of camping and the outdoors. They had lived in Sun City Center, Florida, since 1998.

In accordance with their wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Family and friends are encouraged to remember Edwina and Max in their own ways.
