Michael Stephen Murawski, 64, loving son, brother, and uncle, passed away in the early-morning hours of September 17, 2016, with his sister Karen, by his side.

Michael was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 5, 1952 to Stephen and Mary, their second-born child and only son. He was baptized Catholic and grew up in Queens, NY. In 1971 he moved to Apollo Beach, FL and learned to be an auto mechanic. In 1973, he suffered terrible injuries in an auto accident which left him physically disabled.

He devoted his life to helping care for his parents in their later years, and his ailing sister. Michael was always giving of himself. He was a big Nascar fan, loved music and baseball, and could answer just about any Jeopardy question there was with speed and accuracy.

As a kid, Michael wanted a brother... so, he got four sisters! And through them, wonderful brothers-in-law. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law- Stephanie and Robert Lee Humecky of Apollo Beach, Diane and Michael Houghtaling of Ruskin, Karen and Ted Freiwald of Ruskin, and Deboraha Murawski of Apollo Beach, as well as two godchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a large extended family. All those he leaves behind will miss him very much.

He was a good, decent, honorable man. That's the true measure of a man. A kind word, a smile, a small gesture is worth so much — that's how Michael lived his life. We know there is a special place for him in Heaven, where he is smiling and standing tall, happy, and healthy, with no more pain. We're all proud to have known and loved him.

As an honor to Michael, his family will gather at the home of Diane and Mike Houghtaling in October, to celebrate Michael's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital in his name.
