Nora Lane Motzko was born December 2, 1935 in Donaldsonville, Georgia, the daughter of Clinton and Ethel (Regan) Mercer. She grew up in Georgia and Florida. On May 26, 1956, Nora was united in marriage to Wilfred C. Motzko in Sebring, Florida by Fr. Heuring. The couple was blessed with four children. Wilfred passed away in 1996, so the couple was able to share in 40 years of marriage. They lived at various Air Force bases during their marriage. Nora spent her time caring for the house and raising the children. The family moved to Benson in 1970, and Nora worked for several years at the Benson Diner. She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church and the ladies group there. She also was a member of the Busy Hands Quilters, and the Mission Group. Among the things she enjoyed were quilting, cooking, and flower gardening. Nora was called from this life on Saturday, April 11, 2009 in Benson. She attained the age of 73 years, 4 months and 9 days. Nora is survived by her children: William Motzko of 29 Palms, CA, Patty (Dean) Bouta of Willmar, Katherine (Tien) Nguyen of N. Hills, CA, and Sandra (Craig) Frahm of St. Cloud; three grandchildren: Jessica Roisum, Ben Bouta, and Tila Motzko; three great grandchildren: Isaac Roisum, Savannah Roisum, and Isabella Roisum; one brother, Jim (Joyce) Mercer of Louisiana; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Wilfred; her parents, Clinton and Ethel; and siblings: Dora Mercer, Vivian Taylor, Betty Guillon, Phyllis Sellars, Stanley Mercer, and Bill Mercer.
