Raymond Edward Thomas born June 19, 1929
passed away July 31, 2017. He was preceded in
death by his wife Phyllis Rumler Thomas whom
he married July 1, 1955; and his parents Rex and Ruth Shelley Thomas.
He was born and raised in Frankton, IN.
He grew up riding bikes down Bakers Hill, then r
racing cars down the same hill, working in the
Orestes tomato fields and canning factory.
Ray graduated from Frankton High School class of 1947.

He served in the Army during the Korean conflict
as an explosive specialist stationed in Germany.
Ray retired from GM in 1984- after working in the
factory and then spending many years as a
UAW local 662 insurance representative.

He lived in Bonita Springs, FL 1988-1993 with Phyllis,
worked at the Fish Trap Marina, delivered shrimp to
bait Shops in Southwest FL and was active
in the Bonita Springs Moose lodge.

Ray and Phyllis moved back to IN in 1994
worked part time delivering for an CarQuest
auto parts store until 2009, when he formally retired.

He moved to Florida permanently in 2011
living in Sun City Center and then moving to Apollo Beach in 2016.
He loved watching the Tampa Bay Rays and Sunday
dinners with family watching the Indianapolis Colts.

Ray adored his family and friends.
He was a dedicated family man, always
going out of his way to provide.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and
great grandchildren playing sports. He is survived by children -
Marina Bellotti (Roque) ; Debbie Snyder ( Isadore Tucson);
Michael Thomas (Kendra) Grandchildren - Anna Shoemaker (Josh);
Pete Bellotti ( Natalie) ; TJ Bellotti; Jon Bellotti ( Trista);
Brandy Thomas; Brittany Green (Ryan); Bethanie Snyder Great grandchildren
Kaitlyn, Conner and Lily Shoemaker; Evalyn, Asher and Josie Bellotti;
Quentin and Mattix Bellotti; Emmalee and Olivia Green;
Blake Raymond Thomas; Adrian and Raymond Abeya;
Several cousins - Rita Nolet, Carol Flynn,
Mike Flynn, Wilbur Clark - to name a few .

In lieu of flowers,
the family requests memorial donations be made
to LifePath Hospice, Hillsborough County, Florida
or
the charitable organization of choice.

A celebration of life will be planned
in Indiana , date to be announced .
