Reath Blickenderfer, age 92, of Sun City Center, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Born July 28, 1932, in Unity, PA. He was the son of the late Reath and Elsie (Markley) Blickenderfer.
In 1951, after graduating high school, Reath moved to Ohio, where he met the love of his life, Gloria M. Rohr. After he served in the Korean War, they were married August 20, 1955, sharing 69 years together.
After 31 years working in sales for food brokers and calling the Western Style square dances, Reath and Gloria moved to Florida, where he called dance full time; retiring in 1994. Reath's love of playing and singing county, blue grass and gospel music was enjoyed by everyone. If there was a "jam" anywhere, you would see Reath there. That was his "Happy Place".
Reath is survived by his wife, Gloria, daughter Connie Meleg, wife of Michael, and grandson, former Marine, Tyler Meleg, all of Davenport, Iowa. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Linda Goulden, brother-in-law, Tom Rohr, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by three brothers, Paul, Dale, and Jack Blickenderfer and two sisters, Olive Beighley and Eilene Hardgrove.
There will be no services. Final resting place will be Sunset Hills memory Gardens in Canton, Ohio.
