Obituary

Richard Lynn "Rick" DeWolfe, 71, passed away on June 19, 2025, in Sun City, Florida. Born on March 1, 1954, in Peoria, Illinois, Rick lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and devotion to his family.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie DeWolfe of Plant City, Florida; his son Travis DeWolfe and daughter-in-law Stephanie of Bloomington, Indiana; his daughter Ashley DeWolfe of Columbus, Indiana; and his cherished grandchildren Marley and Gabe DeWolfe. He is also survived by his sister Cathy Stisser and her husband Terry of San Diego, California.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Jack DeWolfe, as well as two grandsons, Tyler and Travy.

A man who never met a stranger, Rick had a gift for conversation and could strike up a chat with anyone willing to lend an ear.

Rick was the proud owner of Rick's Hog Roast, a catering business he ran for several years. Through this venture, he brought people together over good food and good company—two things he valued deeply.

An avid outdoorsman throughout his life, Rick found joy in fishing and hunting. In his younger years, he also enjoyed playing pool, ping pong, and golf—activities that reflected both his competitive spirit and love for camaraderie.

One of the most poignant chapters of Rick's life came in April 2025 when he fulfilled a heartfelt final wish: to bring his family together for an unforgettable Disney vacation. Determined to create lasting memories for those he loved most, Rick orchestrated the trip with care and enthusiasm. One moment stood out above all—waiting in line for hours just to ride Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom. The look of child-like wonder on Rick's face during the ride became a treasured memory for everyone present.

Rick's legacy lives on through the stories shared around dinner tables, the laughter echoing from family gatherings, and the enduring bonds he helped forge among those closest to him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
