Richard Henry Hemphill 72, passed away at home on June 29, 2018 after a long illness. He was born in Queens New York to John (Jack) Hemphill and Louise Haaf Hemphill.
He grew up in Yonkers, New York. Rich attended Roosevelt High School and Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam, New York, where he graduated in 1967, receiving an electrical engineering degree. Richard was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1970 and served 2 years. He returned to his job at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Philadelphia area where he worked for many years. He also worked for Cherry Hill Precision. He lived in Newtown Square, PA for 30 years before moving permanently to Apollo Beach, Florida in 2011.
He was an avid gun collector, loved to play poker and enjoyed his many trips to Las Vegas.
He is survived by his sister, Janet Trento and brother-in-law, Bob Trento of Magnolia, Delaware & Naples, Florida along with many close friends.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at VFW Post 6287, all are welcome to attend. Lunch will follow the service.
