Richard "Dick" Sovich of Sun City Florida passed away peacefully at his home on July 31, 2025 surrounded by family at the age of 91. He grew up in Ambridge, PA along with 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Dick is survived by his 2nd wife Jacque and children Sharon (Jerry) Coleman, Clay (Cheryl) Sovich, stepdaughter Michelle (John) Schneider, stepson Mike (Traci) McClintock, grandchildren Clay II (Jenna) Sovich, Christina (Kevin II) Sullivan, Samantha Schneider, Jake (Mallory) McClintock and McKenna (Jordan) Cherry and great grandchildren Kevin Sullivan III, Emma Sullivan, Ella Cherry and Cora Cherry.
He was predeceased by his first wife Virginia and son Mark.
Dick attended Ambridge High School and graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA with a degree in accounting. He earned his CPA license following graduation. He was a sergeant in the United States Army and, as part of his service, spent 18 months in Korea.
He raised his family in Moon Township, PA where he was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and later moved to Tampa Florida. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He was an avid golfer, shooting a hole-in-one in Naples Florida, and greatly enjoyed camping, fishing, coaching, barbecuing and among many other things taking annual vacations including trips to Myrtle Beach, Fort DeSoto Park, Disney World, Algonquin Park in Canada, Ocracoke, NC and Key West to name a few.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A celebration of his life is being planned for August 23, 2025.
