Robert F. Bieling, age 99, of Sun City Center, Florida passed away peacefully at home on 05/19/2026.

Born on 04/21/1927 in Syracuse, NY, Robert was the child of Herman and Margaret Bieling.

He attended the New York State Maritime academy as a Naval Cadet and then served actively in the Army during late World War II, with the 4th Signal Service Group at Manilla, Philippine Islands.

He graduated from Syracuse University in September 1950 with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. Later graduating with a Master's of Science in Education Vocational Technical from State University of New York college of Oswego.

He taught for 2 1/2 years at a Technical college. Worked for Atlantic Richfield Company as Operations Supervisor later as the Region Fleet Maintenance Coordinator. In 1965 he was hired by the State University College at Oswego, NY as the Diector of Physical Plant. After retiring from New York State he moved to Tampa, FL working for the University of South Florida as Director of Physical Plant including overseeing a large work force of approximately 300 persons.

Robert's passion was automotive restoration, hunting, dancing, skiing and playing bridge. "Bob" or "Bop" will be remembered most for his quick wit, his prowess on the ski slopes and dance floor and love for family.

Bob is survived by his wife Lillian Bieling; children Dave Bieling, Diane Bieling, Richard Bieling, Lori Lyle, grandchildren Alexander Bieling, Christine Brawn and Michael Reyes. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Bieling.

He will be buried at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 11:30 on May 28th, 2026.
