Robert Eric Chase (53), or "Bones" as he was affectionately known to many, of Derry, NH passed away unexpectedly and tragically in an accident at work on March 24th, 2021 in Ruskin, FL.
Son of William A. Chase Jr. and Claire A. Chase (LaBranche) of Derry, NH, Rob was a lifelong Derry resident who, as a young boy, could often be found causing mischief around Chase's Grove with his brothers: William J. Chase, Jeffrey O. Chase, and Timothy J. Chase. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1986 and immediately and proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served two years stationed overseas in Germany.
Rob began dating his future wife, Toni L. Chase (English), of Salem, NH, in 1994 and they were inseparable from that point forward. With each other through happiness, including raising their daughter, Krystal L. Sieradzki (Flint), and tragedy, they were truly soulmates with profound love for one another. They were married in Las Vegas, NV on September 11th, 2007 and fittingly spent their honeymoon at the San Diego Zoo.
Rob was a quiet and stoic man but all that knew him knew of his intense love and passion for his family and friends, animals, history, cars, motorcycles (specifically Triumphs), and the New England Patriots. A season ticket holder for the last 20 years, Rob was a fervent fan who hardly missed a game. His vast collection of Patriots memorabilia often required its own room, where he could usually be found cataloguing his collection or polishing it for display. Of course, he had to keep his most precious artifacts in a drawer in his bureau so in case of a fire he could "take the drawer and run" (his words exactly). He showed little emotion, but cried after every Patriots super bowl win and was proud to be able to see Tom Brady win his 7th down in the Tampa Bay, FL area, where he had lived for the last six years.
Rob spent most of his life working in construction and was known as one of the hardest workers on any job site he attended. Foremen were always begging to have him on their crew as he worked tirelessly, often through lunch. This is just one example of how he would leave a lasting impression on those that had the opportunity to know him. He may have been skinny (hence the nickname), but he was strong and powerful in more ways than one.
The void of this loss will be felt by his many family members and close friends, most of whom he had known since childhood. He is predeceased by his grandparents, William A. Sr. and Ruth E. Chase and Joseph and Laura LaBranche, as well as his father, William A. Chase Jr. He is survived by his wife and daughter, his mother and brothers, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 2nd at Forest Hills Cemetery, Cemetery Dr. Derry, NH. All who attend are encouraged to wear their best Patriots gear. Following the service, a mercy meal will be held beginning at 12:00 pm at the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge, 39 Shadow Lake Road, Salem, NH, where family and close friends are invited to share in a celebration of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests you donate to the New Hampshire SPCA instead. This can be done via the link
