Robert Charles McGee was born June 19, 1945 in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Charles William and Evelyn Marie (Lageson) McGee. He grew up in rural Danvers, and attended grade school in Danvers. He graduated from Benson High School with the Class of 1963. After graduation, Bob worked in Benson at the Creamery and at Welker's, hauling hay. On July 18, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to Rosalie Joann Tjosaas at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson by Rev. Rooney. The couple was blessed with four children and 46 years of marriage. In 1966, Bob served his country in the United States Air Force, and was based in Duluth. After his discharge in 1970, he returned home and lived on a farm southwest of Benson where he farmed and raised cattle. He also worked at Orscheln, Fingerhut, and Web Livestock. In 1990, he moved to his present farm. He worked at Tyler/Case from 1993 - 2007, when he retired due to his illness. Out of all his jobs, he enjoyed farming and raising cattle the most. Bob was a member of the Shamrock Hest Riding Club for many years. Among the things he enjoyed were horseback riding and driving his horses, trail rides, and competing at shows with his family and club members. Bob held team penning events at the arena built on his farm, and competed at many events in the area. He also enjoyed going to auctions, threshing shows and museums. He especially enjoyed watching his grandkids participate in all their activities. Bob was called from this life on October 17, 2010 at his home. He attained the age of 65 years, 3 months and 28 days. Bob is survived by his wife, Rosalie of Benson; his mother, Evelyn McGee of Benson; children: Robert (Sheila) McGee of Benson, Chad (Michelle) McGee of St. Paul, Jess (Angie) McGee of Danvers, and Michael (Sara) McGee of Danvers; nine grandchildren: Bobi Rose McGee, Philip McGee, Benji McGee, Wyatt McGee, Jay Even McGee, Preston McGee, John McGee, Zoey McGee, and Taylor McGee; a sister, Charlotte McGee of Danvers, and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death was his father, Charles 'Buddy' McGee.
