Robert Harold
Noelte
Aug 20, 1938 — Oct 2, 2026
Sun City Center
In Loving Memory of Robert Harold Noelte
August 20, 1938 to October 2, 2026
Robert “Bob” Harold Noelte, age 88, of Sun City Center, FL passed away
peacefully on October 2, 2026 surrounded by family.
Born on August 20, 1938 in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of Harold Smith Noelte
and Ina Janet (Christie) Noelte.
After a three year courtship, Bob married Beverly May Marshall on September 26,
1959 at St Theresa’s Church, South Attleboro, MA and shared 67 loving and
wonderful years of marriage together. They lived in Cumberland, RI and West
Falmouth, MA before moving to Sun City Center, FL.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Beverly May Noelte; his two
children: William (Dale) Noelte of Middletown, RI and Linda (Martin) Fertal of
Oakton, VA, four grandchildren: Kurt (Jenna) Noelte, Craig Noelte, Christopher
(Brittany “Millie” Latack) Fertal, and Mark Fertal; brother, David (Janice) Noelte of
The Villages, FL; and three great grandchildren: Griffin, Zoey and Benjamin
Noelte. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Geraghty of Cumberland,
RI.
Bob’s first job was at the local bowling alley where he set the bowling pins. He
attended classes at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) while employed at
Hasbro Industries and ended his career as the Director of Product Engineering
for Tech Industries in Woonsocket, RI.
Bob was both funny and kind. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends
and always had an encouraging word to share with those around him. He was a
caring father who patiently taught us to ski and skate at a young age. He was
also a wonderful grandfather, and would amuse his young grandsons with silly
faces and by putting goldfish crackers on his head for the seagulls to swoop
down and eat. As the grandchildren got older, he shared his love of golf with
them and they spent many happy rounds together. He also enjoyed board and
card games with the family, and could always be counted on to be the wild card in
any game. He loved a good practical joke, and there are many family stories
of his antics.
Over the years, Bob was an avid tennis player, bicycled and skied throughout
New England, golfed with family and friends at his club, sailed around the Cape
and the Islands, dug for quahogs for countless family meals, created beautiful
woodworking, photographed family occasions and vacations, participated in his
church investment committee and bible studies, evolved with the latest computer
technology, spent many years building a stone wall in the yard that is still
standing 50 years later, tinkered on several old Volkswagen Bugs, and
volunteered with his churches, as well as the Yarmouthport Habitat for Humanity
and the Samaritan Services of Sun City Center.
Although he developed dementia in his later years, we were blessed that he was
always appreciative of everyone he met and kept his kind manner and good
sense of humor until the end.
At the family’s request, there will be no service at this time.
