He attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI where he graduated Class of 1988 with a culinary arts degree. Rob was known to be a masterful chef in the kitchen, and went on to become a head chef in some of Bucks county and Philadelphia's best known local eateries. He was the head chef of Deja Vu, a family-owned French restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. With Rob's well-known craft for making a good meal, it drove Deja Vu to be one of the most well respected French restaurants in the United States.
After many years in the Philadelphia area, Rob moved to Tampa, Florida to be closer to his Mother and Father and his Sister's family. It was there that he became one of the head chef's at the Tampa Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. He was introduced to his wife, Camellia Rohr, by her daughter Ashley. Rob and Camellia were married on April 22, 2007 in Little Harbor, Ruskin. While in Ruskin, he worked on and off at many local eateries, including Jackson Street Bistro in downtown Tampa and most recently was head chef at Popi's Place in Ruskin.
All through his life, one could always admire his collectable cookbooks and Neil Young memorabilia. Sports such as archery and karate consumed much of his spare time. More often than most, Robert was most known for his ability to make incredible meals. His famous Calamari dish was known by those who tried it as some of the best they have ever had in their lifetime. The kitchen was his domain, and to this day has made some of the best meals one can remember.
Rob was known by those who knew him best, as a man who would always make every day eventful and always leave you with a smile on your face. He was known for his friendliness, his companionship, and loyalty to those he loved. His life is a testament to the love and support of his parents, family, and friends. He will forever be missed, but never forgotten. May God's eternal light shed well on our beloved Rob.
