Rosalie Elaine Lucking was born March 15, 1929 in Swenoda Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ferdinand and Ida Josefina (Carlson) Johnson. She was baptized June 9, 1929 by Rev. C.J. Peterson and confirmed into the Christian faith on June 28, 1942 by Rev. Richard Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. She grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School. On April 21, 1956, Rosalie was united in marriage to Harold C. Lucking at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in St. Paul. Harold passed away in 1994. Together, Rosalie and Harold were able to share 38 years of marriage. They lived in the Benson area, Vancouver, WA, Pipestone and Perham. Rosalie worked at the Benson Bakery, JC Penney, S & L Leader Store, Cloverleaf Supper Club, and the Federal Highway Dept. of Transportation in Vancouver, WA. Among the things she enjoyed were music, knitting, puzzles, dancing, visiting and traveling. Rosalie was called from this life on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Swift County Hospital. She attained the age of 79 years, 11 months and 29 days. Rosalie is survived by her sisters: Gladys Kliche of Vancouver, WA, Lillian Grussing of Benson, Florence (Marlin) Beckey of Lady Lake, FL, Frances Jensen of Holloway, and Ruth Miller of Appleton; many nieces and nephews; great and great-great nieces and nephews; and several cousins. Preceding her in death were her husband Harold; her parents, Ferdinand and Ida; two brothers: Charles and Bueford Johnson; and three sisters: Margaret Johanson, Marion Rice, and Mae Bennett.
