Roseanna Mae Pearson, 86 of Ruskin, Florida passed
away Wednesday March 9, 2016 at
Autumn of Sarasota in Sarasota, Florida.
Born May 30, 1929 in Greene Co. Indiana.
She was the daughter of Harry Ray and Edyth (Tally) Buckner.
Her career started early, as a child,
she was reported in the newspaper as being
the youngest telephone operator in the U.S.
She was often at the switchboard for the
Independent Telephone Co.
run by her parents in Calvertville, Indiana.
She later worked many years for the Bell telephone Co.
and Crane Ammunition Depart, also in IN.
Rosie was a 50+ year member of the Order of the
Eastern Star and Past Worthy Matron of the Bloomfield, IN. Chapter.
She was a life-long Baptist.
Surviving relatives include: her husband James Pearson,
daughter Carolynn Copenhaver, stepson Dennis Pearson,
grandchildren Michael Tarsan, Jimmie Pearson, DJ Pearson,
Cheryl Pearson, great grandsons; Nicholas Tarsan
and Jesse Brown, and a niece, Loretta Miraglia.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
two sisters Leona Harrah, and Josephine Miller,
a nephew Willard Harrah, a niece, Mildred Carpenter
and grand-niece Clita Carpenter.
