Samuel "Mick" MAGUIRE, a soldier and a patriot, was lost Sunday evening, October 3, 2010, when he went home to heaven surrounded by his wife and loving family. Mick was a dedicated Christian who believed in helping all who need help. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Gibsonton. Mick' s passing was peaceful and serene. His heart just stopped, and he quietly stopped breathing. Mick was retired military, and he never let you forget it. His love for country and appreciation of our servicemen and women showed in his pride when he spoke of them. He sent packages and words of encouragement to people he didn' t even know. After 9/11, he tried to enlist in the U.S. Army. When he was told he was too old, he found other ways to serve. Mick had been in poor health for a long time and was ready to go to his eternal home. "We loved him and will miss him, but we know he is safe in the arms of Jesus." He is survived by wife, Sara Maguire, two sons, one daughter, 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends including the "nukes".
