Obituary

Sandra Ann Womble of Macclenny, FL passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the age of 72.

Sandy was born on March 26, 1948 in Blue Earth, MN to Clifford Arthur and Mary Regina (Evans) Jones. She grew up in and around Mankato, where her favorite days were spent hanging out at the "Dam Store". On April 26, 1968 she married Henry Allen Womble in Sioux Falls, SD. They lived many places, including Germany, and finally settled in Macclenny, FL. They were married for nearly 50 years, and built a home, a life, and a family legacy that will endure for many years to come.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother (Rodney Jones), and one grandchild (Dora Ann Tedder). She is survived by one brother, Thomas Jones and an aunt, Vivian Strand. She is also survived by her children - Corina (John) Brewer, Barbara (Roy) Miller, Ronald (Marlene) Womble, Emily (Paul) Dykes, and Kimberley Womble. No one will miss her more than her grandchildren - Mandy, Melynda, Allen, Jacob, Caleb, Adrianna, Dalton, and Shaeleigh, on whose lives she shined a constant, devoted, and unwavering light.

Sandy was the great-granddaughter of Norwegian immigrants and was true to her heritage in that she was strong, resilient, determined, and fierce when necessary. Her great-grandmother's name was Ragnhild, Norse for "Warrior-Goddess", a term which could easily be applied to Sandy, especially by those who benefited most from her love and protection - her five children and eight grandchildren.

She was a good woman, who took pride in her home and in her family. She would never take credit for, or notice the impact of, her love on the world around her, but it will be forever felt by those who called her by her most cherished names - Mom, Mama, Nana, Granny.

"There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle, or the mirror that reflects it."

May we all continue to reflect this bright flame, so that it can never be extinguished.
