Sharon Ann Mahoney was born on August 9, 1944, in Morris to William Thomas and Ann Helen (Muehlbauer) Mahoney. She was baptized on August 25, 1944, at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Clontarf. She had First Communion on June 27, 1954 and was confirmed on June 4, 1956, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hegbert Township.Sharon attended country school for three years and remained at home until ten years of age. She then lived at Cambridge State Hospital, Nor Haven, and Lake Owasso group homes until returning to Swift County Homes in 1981.She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Sharon was an avid John Wayne fan and loved watching western movies. She enjoyed American Bandstand, Cisco Kid, music, dancing, horseback riding, and great compassion for animals; especially cats and dogs. She liked family reunions, birthday parties, drinking coffee with friends and relatives in Benson, and having a beer with her brothers. She had unconditional love and was very meticulous in polishing furniture and drying the dishes. She was proud of being Irish.Sharon died on Wednesday evening, March 11th, at Appleton Area Health Services. She had attained 64 years, 7 months, and 2 days of age.She is survived by three brothers: Roger (Katie) Mahoney, Paul (Marlys) Mahoney, and Dennis (Tessa) Mahoney all of Appleton; former sister-in-law, Dianne Mahoney, of Winsted; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and other family.She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald Mahoney; grandparents: Dennis and Kate Mahoney and John and Krenszenz Muehlbauer; and niece, Jenny Mahoney.
