RUSKIN - Mrs. Shirley Dail - Rhodes left this earth to be with her Savior, April 17, 2018.

A native of South Bend Indiana, she was born on April 22, 1936, the daughter of the late Oliver L. Milliken and Lillian Elizabeth Perry-Milliken.

Mrs. Dail graduated from Washington-Clay High School. After graduation she attended Cincinnati Bible College in Cincinnati, Ohio. She later moved to the Tampa area with her parents. It was there she met and soon married her first husband, Private First Class Pete Dail Jr. Of Snow Hill, N.C. and the United States Air Force. They were married 53 years until Pete passed away in 2010. She remarried in 2010 to Douglas Rhodes also of South Bend Indiana.

Mrs. Dail is best remembered in the community as the owner and operator of Dail's Shoes and Boots. A family shoe store that served the Ruskin Area for over 20 years. She then followed God's calling becoming a Pastor leading the small Pentecostal, Church Along the Way, located in the Doodle Hill area of East Ruskin. Many people came to know Christ through the Servants Heart lived by "Pastor Shirley".

Not only a business owner and pastor, Mrs. Dail also spent a lot of her 50 plus years as a Ruskinite getting involved in many civic matters, helping to promote and protect our small town. A service for those wishing to pay honor to this special woman will be held on Saturday, April 21st at Northside Baptist Church in Ruskin at 11am.

Mrs. Dail is survived by her 2nd husband of 8 years, Douglas Rhodes. Oldest son Pete Dail III and wife Beverly of Vienna, GA and youngest son Randall Lee Dail and wife Michele of Ruskin. 5 grandchildren; Dusty, Matthew, Sarah, Koby and Logan. 6 great grandchildren; Cooper, Ashton, Brooke, Sterling, Kelcee and Madison.
