Shirley W. McCarty, 76 of Sun City Center, succumbed to illness on May 18, 2010 in Sun City Center. Mrs. McCarty was born in Danbury Ct. on January 21, 1934 of parents Mabelle and Paul Weeks and has been a resident of Sun City for nearly 20 years. She is survived by her two sons; Scott and Kevin, three grandchildren; Brett, Christopher and Amanda, great grandaughter Hailey, sister Joan and nieces Carol and Debbie. She was an avid golfer, devoted friend and neighbor. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at the residence on May 29, 2010 at 4:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the cancer research institute of your choice.
