Shirley Lorretta Suzanna Reuss was born September 11, 1927 in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of Ernest C. and Willamena (Sherring) Stoehr. She was baptized and confirmed at Shible Church. Shirley grew up on a farm north of Appleton and attended country school in Shible Township and graduated from Appleton High School. She worked as a waitress and at a lawyer's office in Appleton. On June 11, 1950, Shirley was united in marriage to Warren Aldo Reuss at Shible Church. This union was blessed with three children and 59 years of marriage. Shirley and Warren farmed north of Danvers. Shirley was called from this life on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. She attained the age of 82 years, 4 months and 14 days. Shirley is survived by her husband Warren of Benson; children: Lucinda (Kyle) Stone of Brooten, Dale (Melody) Reuss of Danvers, and David Reuss of Mound; seven grandchildren: Molly Reuss, Charlene Reuss, Emily Reuss, Leighton Reuss, Barbara (James) Willis, Darrin Reuss, and Michaela Reuss; a great grandchild, Hayden Willis; a sister-in-law, Lois Stoehr; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ernest and Willamena; a brother, Rodney Stoehr; and sisters, Gladys Miller and Genevieve Robbins.
