Hennessey, Sister Rosalie, of Sun City Center was called to eternal life on Aug. 31 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. She was born June 29, 1929, in St. Paul, Minn., and is survived by her sister Helen Marzolf of Minnesota, brother Thomas Hennessey of Oregon, many nieces and nephews, and the Sisters of her religious congregation. Rosalie entered the Order of Servants of Mary in 1947 and in 1949 began her ministry of service as a teacher and school principal in St. Paul, Minn. (19 years) followed by 14 years in college administration in Wisconsin. She moved to Tampa in 1982 and served the Tampa area for 29 years as Executive Director of Alpha House of Tampa (10 years) and Director of Grants and Services at the Conn Memorial Foundation (8 years). Since her retirement in 2000, Sister Rosalie has volunteered with the Community Foundation of Tampa and Sun City Center. She is known and admired as a visionary leader and tireless worker on behalf of people in the greater Tampa area. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Blvd., Sun City Center at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
