Tena Alvina Bjorgan, was born on May 28, 1920, the daughter of John and Raldia Jordahl in Riverside Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. She attended country school through the eighth grade. Tena married Joseph R. Bjorgan on March 2, 1939. This union was blessed with two sons, Kenneth and Robert. Tena's career consisted of being the wife of a farmer and mechanic and also a working mother. In the late 1950's she worked as an egg candler at Appleton Creamery and a book keeper at Northwestern State Bank. Tena was the manager of the American Legion in Milan for several years. She served as an assistant with the Green Thumb Program until the age of 78. Tena was called from this life on Friday, January 22, 2010, at the Appleton Nursing Home. She attained the age of 89 years, 7 months and 26 days. She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth (Mary) Bjorgan, of Spring Lake Park and Robert (Christine) Bjorgan of Richland, Washington; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Myron Jordahl of Caliente, Nevada and Harlan Jordahl of Dawson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph on January 18, 1980, her parents, John and Raldia Jordahl, four brothers, three sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Myrtle Jean Wentler Bjorgan.
