Theresa Manderino, 78, of Sun City Center, FL, died peacefully at her home on March 11, 2011 after a long illness. She moved to Sun City Center in 2001 and was active in several local organizations, including the Democratic Club, the Kings Point Audubon Society, the International Forum, and the Freedom Plaza Opera Club. She enjoyed attending local cultural events and taking international trips, and was a long-time member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center.
She was born Theresa Zilka on January 28, 1933 in Monessen, PA, where she lived most of her life. She was a full-time homemaker and later worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare as a Caseworker.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Manderino of Richardson, TX, Laurie Manderino of Denver, CO, and Amy Manderino of Berkeley, CA; a brother Phillip Zilka of Monessen, PA; and several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Cyril, Paul, Clement, Anthony, Joseph Jr., and Bernard Zilka and by her husband, Louis L. Manderino. Funeral services will be held at Price of Peace Catholic Church on Thursday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made in her name to LifePath Hospice of Sun City Center, FL or to the Sun City Center Community Library.
