Obituary

Smith, Virginia "Ginny" 85, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2018. Born in Cresaptown, MD she was the daughter of the late Thelma and Harry Lee.

During the last 3 decades in Florida she loved going out to eat breakfast, watching sports on the television (Rays, Bucs, Ravens), doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. In her younger years she was infamous for her role as the Secretary of the year at the now closed Kelly Springfield in Cumberland, Maryland. She was a critical piece in the water skiing pyramids of the Potomac South Branch crew. While living in Cresaptown, MD she was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of St Luke's Lutheran Church on Frederick Street in Cumberland.

She is survived by her loving husband Ronald A. Smith of Sun City Center, Florida, and her five children, Douglas Smith and his wife Dianna of Cresaptown, Maryland, Scott Smith of Freeport, Maine, Debbie Mathew and her husband Jack of Rawlings, Maryland, Sherrie Dennis and her fiancé Joseph Hook of Ocean Pines, Maryland, and Shellie DeLuca and her husband Paul of Reisterstown, Maryland. She was the sister of Charlene Winters of Winchester, VA and Janice Pope of Cresaptown, Maryland.

Her true source of joy was the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who are Cassi Love, Keiley Love, Alexia Love, David Smith, Aliyaah Smith, Siobhan Smith, Ryan Smith, Kelley Cooper, Dillon Mathew, Bryan Adams, Logan Adams, Chance Adams, Cynthia Adams, and Grace DeLuca. She was preceded in death by her grandson Justin Cooper.

An intimate service for the burial will be held graveside at the Sunset Memorial Park on Bedford Road in Cumberland within the next week.
