Obituary

Wallace(Russ) Russell b. Oct. 7th 1935 in a log cabin in Russell Springs, KY to Walter and Rena Russell.
He was the eldest of 13 children with 6 brothers and sisters. In his younger years he was known as Jam-up(part of a comedy team on radio at that time) and brother Ollace is still known to the family as Honey(the other half of the comedy team). He inherited a love of music and reading from his father. He often played guitar and delighted friends and family with his music and buck dancing, many a porch raising was finished in just this way.
He married Beatrice, his beloved wife of 40 years, and helped raise a family. Always "Poppy" to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He taught them his love of fishing, cooking, music and being with family and friends. He served 10 years in the Marine Corp. as a drill instructor. He worked throughout his life in construction. He assisted in building many of the mobile home parks in the area, such as Neptune, River Breeze and Woodland Estates.
He retired early due to his health. He spent his last 20 years in Old Sun City Center. Always loving the outdoors he had a green thumb. He began planting and repotting which led to Poppy's beautiful Orchids. His plants and flowers continue to grow as does our love and happy memories of a very special husband, father and brother.
