Winton "Lee" Jackson, 84, died in Ruskin, FL on March 14, 2021 with his son at his side. Lee was born on May 13, 1936 to John and Alta Maris Jackson in Tangier, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold Jackson; 2 sons, Raymond Jackson and Ronald Jackson; and a granddaughter, Jessica Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Wilma Joan Lewis Jackson, who he married on August 26, 1956.
He is survived by a son, Randy Jackson, of Gibsonton, FL; a daughter, Paula (Daniel) Dye of Crawfordsville, Indiana; 5 grandchildren, Jacob Jackson of Statesboro, GA; Rona (Josh) Query of Avon, Indiana; Sarah Jackson of Statesboro, GA, Bud Pettis of San Francisco, CA, and Billy Jackson of San Francisco, CA; 8 great-grandchildren, and a brother Charles (Charlie, Rex) Jackson of Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Lee served in the Navy from 1956 to 1962, and then worked at RR Donnelley in Crawfordsville, IN from 1964 until he retired. Lee also co-owned the Marshall, Indiana Laundromat for many years. He was involved with the Moose and Eagles Lodges both in Florida and Indiana, and was a member of the Alamo, Indiana Masonic Lodge.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in both Florida and Indiana for his friends and family from both states.
The Florida Celebration will be held at this favorite hang-out, the Bullfrog Creek Bar, in Gibsonton, FL.
The Indiana location will be determined later.
